Setting interface Options
Configuration
Several of the ways the web site operates can be customized to fit personal preference.
The following options are able to be set on a per machine per user basis.
Note: Option settings are stored in a cookie. Therefore if cookies are ever cleared
for this or all sites, your options will have to be set up again.
Start by clicking the Options
icon in the Toolbar.
Hide page header
Select this option to hide the images and links at the top of the page to provide
more room for the map (full screen mode).
Display Scale Bar
Check this box if you would like to have an alternating bar show a scale of miles,
yards or feet (depending on zoom level) in the lower left corner of the screen.

If this or the Scale Ratio option are selected, the footer section will automatically
be hidden when you open the map.
Display Scale Ratio
If selected, a ratio will appear in the lower left corner of the map above the copyright
text.

This is a simple ratio not referencing any one particular unit of measure. Therefore,
a scale of 1:205 means that every inch on the screen represents 205 inches in actual
(real) space.
Show category last in Identify
When using the Identify tool, this option allows the
choice of listing the feature property or the category first.

will be included around the drawn shape (i.e. buffer of zero).

The Properties tool either has a link to the State Equalized Value or can automatically
display a new window with the taxable values.

Latitude Longitude in Status Bar
The Latitude and Longitude of the current mouse position displays in the far bottom
left corner of the browser window when this option is checked.

Some browsers do not contain a Status Bar and thus will not allow the display of
this feature.
When first turned on the numbers may represent values in the NAD 1983 State Plane
Michigan South FIPS International Feet coordinate system. Changing the extent (zoom
or pan) should adjust the values to be in decimal degrees.
Do not use pop-up map
By default, the map will open in a new full screen "pop-up" window when you start
the application. To prevent this and have the map open in the same window as the
link you click, check this box.
