Printing

The County of Kent Parcel Viewer allows you to print the map and the results from search and other operations.

To print the map and results

  1. Zoom or pan the map to the area you wish to print.
  2. Optionally, use available tasks to display results in the Results area.
  3. Click the Print icon Print tool on the Toolbar.
  4. In the Print dialog, choose options as desired for printing. Some options that may be available are:
    • Title: title to display at the top of the printed page.
    • Map Size: select if you would like to print the map in Portrait or Landscape orientation (printing to landscape requires some extra steps outlined below) and Letter (8½ x 11 in.) or ANSI B (11 x 17 in.) size.
    • Print table of results for: The listed items may be printed from the Results area. Check the boxes for results items to print.
    • Print results only (no map): if checked, a map will not be included on the printed page.
    • Include: You may to select whether to include a scale bar or north arrow on the printed page.
  5. Click Create Print Page to generate the print-preview page, which opens in a new window. If the window does not open, check to ensure that any pop-up blockers in your browser are not blocking this website.
  6. If printing to landscape orientation, please skip to the instructions below.
  7. If a Map Size of Portrait is selected the print-preview window will automatically select the browser's Print button (like choosing File-Print). From the Print dialog window, you may print to any device available on your system.

Printing in Landscape orientation

If a Map Size of Landscape is selected, the map image will be 8 inches high and 11 inches wide (approximately). However, most browsers require extra interaction to rotate the orientation of the printed page. If the new window does not automatically show in print-preview mode, select File, Print Preview (Alt+F, V). Next click on Page Setup Page Setup (Alt+U) and select Landscape from the Orientation options.

Click OK to return to the print-preview mode and verify that the map and disclaimer fit on a single page (Page 1 of 1). If it does not, return to Page Setup and reduce the margins. If "Print table of results" was not selected from the window prompt, the image should fit on a single page.  Once satisfied with the preview, click Print, select the appropriate printer and click OK.  Maps will print best on a color printer if available.
